The PS noted that the Ministry, through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), has provided transport for every school and therefore does not anticipate any challenges. He added that the Ministry has been clear that no one should act contrary to the agreed guidelines.

Pointing to the container, he noted that it is fitted with smart padlocks that cannot be opened before the set time. Teachers have been issued with strict guidelines, and the Ministry continues to engage candidates, urging them to remain calm. “We may not have a lot of challenges this year,” he said, entrusting the process to God and praying that all involved will be guided to do the right thing at all times.

On the heavy rains and possible flooding, the PS said the National and County Governments, together with the Ministry of Education, have mapped out high-risk areas, and several committees are monitoring the situation. Additional containers will be provided where needed, and a helicopter will be deployed where necessary.

The Ministry will also monitor the examinations in real time. By 9 or 10 a.m. each day, it receives a countrywide report confirming that examination materials have arrived and flagging any challenges. A second report follows in the evening, providing a quick way to identify and resolve any issue.

The PS later visited Buruburu Girls Secondary School to witness the start of the first paper and wish the candidates success.
