This morning, the Principal Secretary, State Department for Basic Education, John Ololtuaa, together with Petroleum Principal Secretary, Kello Harsama , held discussions on Kenya’s LPG-for-Schools strategy, a key initiative supporting the transition of public boarding schools from firewood, charcoal and other biomass fuels to clean, safe and sustainable cooking solutions.

The discussions focused on the establishment of an Inter-Ministerial Coordination Framework for the Institutional Clean Cooking Programme.

The initiative will contribute to healthier learning environments, improved safety and greater environmental sustainability, while advancing Kenya’s clean cooking agenda and the National LPG Growth Strategy.
